Dr. Vahid Rashedi is an esteemed Assistant Professor at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in Tehran, Iran. With a strong academic foundation, he earned his Ph.D. in Gerontology with distinction in 2017, building on his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Rehabilitation Sciences. His academic journey has been driven by a deep commitment to understanding the aging process, mental health, and cognitive well-being.
Dr. Rashedi is an active member of some of the most prestigious professional organizations in his field, including the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and the American Psychological Association (APA), where he continuously engages with the latest research and developments. His work focuses on mental health, psychogeriatrics, and cognitive health, where he is known for his innovative and impactful contributions.
In addition to his academic and research endeavors, since 2019, Dr. Rashedi has held the distinguished position of Senior Collaborator for the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) project at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. In this global role, he contributes to critical assessments of population health, aiming to shape health policies and improve lives worldwide.
Dr. Rashedi’s passion for gerontology, combined with his dedication to advancing mental health research, positions him as a leader in the interdisciplinary study of aging and well-being on both a national and international scale.
